the foolish and reckless sort
destined to fall off an edged earth
better to be kept
inside curtained closets
and tidy lit rooms
they said
and yet
she reasons that closets and rooms
are only ever so called
because of entrances and exits
so doors
she reasons
were made to be flung
and eyes pressed to keyholes
do little to flag a fate
and inklings that say go
ought not be ignored
